Put your horse's behaviour on cue in a step by step, logical way. As the courses become harder, the more your communication is tested!
Practice going over tarpaulin, through flapping curtains, around a scary corner to prepare your horse for the big wide world.. but do it at a comfortable pace for both of you to build trust.
As your horse navigates over and around obstacles, he will have to think about where he is putting his feet. This improves his body awareness and can improve performance and prevent injury.
As he weaves through cones, navigates an S bend or side passes over a pole, he improves the suppleness through his limbs and back.
Agility will help you prepare for competition in any discipline. By testing your cues and providing strength, suppleness and proprioception training, it is excellent cross training.
Even if you simply want to enjoy hacking, agility will prepare you and your horse for any scary objects you might meet out there.
We will work on foundation ground control exercises such whoa and wait, hindquarter yield, forehand yield and back up. Then we will introduce obstacles to improve focus and accuracy.
You will have the opportunity to build up to scary objects such as flags, curtains and tarpaulin at your own pace, so that you and your horse build confidence in one another.
Working in groups of 2, we will work up to completing a course, which can also be filmed for submission to Equine Agility UK.
Min 6 people for external clinics or £150 for the day.
